In this interview on WSFL 39 Miami, Inside South Florida, Matt Zemon, CEO, co-founder of Happy, and author of the best-selling book “Psychedelics for Everyone,” talks about the evolving landscape of psychedelic medicine and its growing use in treating mental health conditions. Matt shared his transformative personal experience with psilocybin (magic mushrooms) in 2019, which prompted him to pursue a Master’s in psychology and neuroscience, ultimately shifting his career focus towards advocating for psychedelic therapies.

During the interview at the world’s largest psych conference, Wonderland, Matt highlighted the profound impact psychedelics can have on individuals, including the ability to release deep-seated guilt and shame and rediscover feelings of love and safety. He emphasized the significant benefits observed in veterans and first responders who have PTSD, citing a phase three clinical trial with MDMA that showed 67% of participants no longer qualified as having PTSD after just two sessions.

Matt addressed the skepticism some may have towards psychedelics, noting that over 300 academic institutions are currently studying their effects. He encouraged viewers to explore the extensive research demonstrating the safety and efficacy of these treatments.
